NEW SUMMER TRACK LEAGUE FOR THE BOURNEMOUTH VELODROME
This summer, the Bournemouth Velodrome will shortly be hosting an intensive six-week Friday night track league for all age groups. The league is being organised by Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers in partnership with Active Dorset, the county sports partnership.
This summer, the track league is designed to be fun, friendly, and inclusive. Races for youth riders are therefore a critical part of the programme. The organisers want to see fast, safe racing from all riders. Younger riders should be able to learn skills and techniques from watching the more experienced senior riders compete. The track league is primarily aimed at local riders from local clubs but entries from further afield will always be welcomed.
The track league will welcome safe riders. All riders must all hold a valid British Cycling racing licence and be familiar with riding and/or racing on a velodrome. The event organisers and the race commissaries will use their judgement and discretion, based on their observations of the riders in action, to decide on a rider’s competency to compete. Race officials reserve the right to withdraw a rider from an event if he/she is deemed to be too inexperienced. Coaching support will be offered to allow them to compete in future races.
The six-week series starts on June 23rd and runs every Friday night until July 28th. Racing begins at 18.30 until dusk.
