Moreton Series, Greening Minds His Own Business!

Giles Greening (TRI UK) won round 3 of the Bournemouth Cycleworks sponsored, Moreton series, hanging on to win as the scratch group laboured more than a minute behind. Greening led out of the final corner, with over a kilometre to the line it was a confident move from the 29 year old from Bridport, 15 year old Chris McLaughlin (UK Biking Copyrite) was on his shoulder but could not get round as Greening tied up! “Ten more metres and I would have got him” beamed the youngster.
Lapping at 25mph Greening’s group were working hard, lapping at 27mph the “Reds” were faster but accelerations out of corners strung them out and ultimately broke their rhythm. The autopsy outside the village hall went on for a good 20 minutes, the scratch group picking over the bones of their failed pursuit, they have no one to blame but themselves. They may have been racing harder than everyone else but they are not in the race till they catch everyone else! A commanding voice is needed. Of course none of this is Greenings business; he simply did what he had to do. Next week sees the first of 6 Women only races starting at 18:30 with the Open race off at 19:15.
