PrimeraTeamJobs go to Work!

Calum Croft made it a good weekends work for PrimeraTeamJobs winning the E/1/2 at the Westpoint circuit in Exeter. In a first outing for the new team kit, Croft won the sprint from a small, select group........

"The race was quite straight forward, pace was high from the off with George Pym and the lad from Condor getting a small gap almost immediately, I bridged up dragging the peloton with me but noticed everything looking quite stretched behind so I kept pushing on past and a lap later it had snapped, with George, James Williams, the Condor JLT rider and one other in tow. We all then worked well and and lapped the field twice. With five to go I had a dig up the rise to test things, but was marked, then each of us in term did similar things until two to go when we slowed right down and started looking at each other thinking about the sprint. I lead for the whole of the last lap knowing from experience it's not a bad place to be on that circuit so long as you can wind it up slow and get through the last corner first. There was a large group of back markers just before the corner though which made things pretty hectic. The Condor lad took a flyer just before, and I thought I might of stuffed it but I managed to come out of the corner level pegging and when I lit up I felt reallystrong and quickly pulled away to win by a bike length from Williams." Alex Hart won the supporting 3/4th cat race escaping in a break of three with teammate Ed Hatfield. Hart & Hatfield went from the gun breaking away in a group of 10 riders which quickly became 3. Riding smooth and fast the trio lapped the field several times before Hatfield led his teammate out and still had the legs to take 2nd.
Elsewhere at the Zappi’s Crits Tom Temple snatched 3rd place in the U16s race at the closed road Enstone circuit near Oxford.
