The “Local Riders,Local Racers” 2 Day proved a great success, glorious weather helped of course but feedback from the riders has been very positive. Saturday mornings first stage, a hill climb prologue up Cocknowle hill opened lungs, a headwind & the gradient, a good test. On paper stage 2 was short at 47 miles, no problem, ten times up East Creech hill and the hot temperatures provided the questions. Some said another lap would have been better. On to Moreton and stage 3, an easy flat, 2.5 mile time trial, only they never are. The final 60 mile stage, three 20 loops through Dorset villages and countryside was a worthy “Queen Stage” giving the event a real “Tour” feel.
