New Forest 10 12/06/12




Packing in the miles for a seven-day Alpine event has not affected the speed of New Forest Cycling Club’s Gary Lock.He powered around the second and final 10-mile event in the Thorney Hill series in 23min 31sec to take his second victory and win the competition outright with an aggregate time of 47-12.Second place on the night, and overall, went to Ben Boardman who clocked 23-59 to make a final tally of 48-55.“I was pleased,” Gary said after the finish at the summit of Braggers Wood Hill. “Ben’s coming into some form as well. It was fun.”Third place in the second time trial went to Southampton Tri Club’s Peter Wooldridge with 25-03, who is ineligible for the club aggregate competition.So third overall went to Stuart Peckham who was fourth with 25-44 and a total time of 51-23.Steve Roberts was in close contention in fifth place with 25-56 which earned him fourth overall with 52-29.Other qualifying rides (all NFCC): Geri Robinson (27-01and 27-04) 54-05, Dan Mitchell (26-58 and 27-53) 54-51, Keith Bradfield (27-26 and 27-48) 55-14, Richard Rajski (27-16 and 28-00) 55-16, Phil Underwood (27-30 and 27-51) 55-21, Richard Mason (27-24 and 28-07) 55-31, Dave Wilson (27-31 and 28-02) 55-33, Konnor Bracher-Walsh (27-40 and 28-40) 56-20, Peter Weaver (30-00 and 29-20) 59-20, Geoff Weller (30-31 and 30-22) 1-00-53, Anthony Moyle (30-18 and 31-07) 1-01-25.Riders participating in the final event only (NFCC unless stated): Pete Wilson (Bournemouth Arrow CC) 26-49, Jon Brooks (Come and Try It) 26-28, Nick Tattersall 29-09, Sophie Needham (Soton Tri Club) 29-10, Phil Jones 31-06, Ryan Seed (Come and Try It) 32-13.
