He was followed by three other New Forest team counters: Chris Grant (24-36), juvenile Hugo Walters (24-37) and James Bannister (24-49).Southampton Tri Club’s Mike Zollo was eighth overall with 24-54 and Geri Robinson completed the winning Forest squad with 25-07.Forest riders Rob Brinsdon and Howard Doe filled the next two slots with 25-13 and 25-15, unattached rider Alistair Rogers was 12th with 25-19 followed by Crabwood’s first team member, Pat Lafford, with 25-21 while his clubmate Andy Stevens was 27th with 28-22.Other times (NFCC unless stated): Peter Bolke (Sholing All Stars) 25-24, Dan Mitchell 25-49, Joe Phillips 25-51, Nick Williams 26-08, Tom Butler 26-12, Hugh Roper 26-17, Richard Rajski 26-23, Richard Mason 26-44, Gary Plumb 27-42, Andy Evans (unattached) 27-29, Tom Smith (Soton University RC) 27-33, Ryan Blake (Soton Tri Club) 28-12, Steve Gordon (unattached) 28-13, Geoff Weller and Rosie Hillary (Soton TC) tied with 28-32 and , Chris Mills 28-37, Chris Summers (Sotonia CC) 28-54, Donna Shaw 29-10, Phil Jones 29-41, Ryan Seed 29-44, Pete Hawker 29-51, Martin Balk 30-14.New Forest CC won the first leg with 23 points and the second with 21 against Crabwood’s 55 and 57.
Konnor completes End-to-End ahead of schedule
New Forest CC juvenile Konnor Bracher-Walsh and his uncle Dug Hickin completed their arduous 960-mile Land’s End John O’Groats charity ride with more than two hours in hand over their 72-hour target.Konnor emailed the following message back to Hampshire: “Just to let you know we finished the ride yesterday morning in 69 hours and 23 minutes. That’s 2hr 37min ahead of schedule. “Very tired and there's not one part of our bodies that don’t hurt, but it was worth it in the end.”Konnor is raising money for the University of Cambridge Veterinary School Trust and his uncle for the Go Commando charity.
