With temperatures soaring it was a surprise to see only six riders turn out for the third club 25 of our season. A few riders may have been keeping their powder dry for a fast run at the Poole Wheelers 10 on Wednesday night but others seem to decide it was 'too hot' for racing. A far cry from last week the happiest man was probably time keeper Justin. Shades, shorts and sandals, sat in his deck chair watching the six of us tackling the tarmac on a glorious summers evening.
Ian Hobley continued his return to testing with his first win in a solid 59:27, 2 minutes quicker than the first 25 of his return and about half way back to his best. Steve Pink finally broke the hour with 59:39, fist pumping past the line and taking maximum club point to extend his lead in the table. David Butt managed to shave a few more seconds from his PB to round out the top 3.
Congratulations to Brian Sands for completing his first 25 and we also welcomed Gary Smith who is here on holiday from Kings Lynn and discovering the delights of cycling in our stunning Dorset countryside (especially the Purbecks).
