EVENT DETAILS
10:00 to 12:00 ON SATURDAY 8TH JUNE 2019
WINDY CORNER, TARRANT RUSHTON AIRFIELD, BLANDFORD FORUM, DT11 8SB

If you are interested in cycling and keen to support a project to improve a facility that could provide a safe and traffic area to cycle in Dorset – then please come to Tarrant Rushton Airfield and show your support.
The project underway is to improve the road surface, as a 1 mile stretch of the 3.5 mile circuit is currently in disrepair. There is currently a bid in progress with British Cycling and Sports England to improve the surface and to provide some storage and basic facilities to get the venue usable. We are asking as many cyclists to ride to the venue (children welcome) so we can evidence the level of support for this venue which could be used for leisure cycling, coaching, skills development, racing and will just encourage people to be more active. The venue also has potential for running and other activities. Cyclists are very welcome to a ride a lap or two of the circuit; but please be mindful that the surface is a bit bumpy in places. The landowner has very kindly given permission to open the main gate for the event and our project volunteers will be at the main gate to ensure that the access is safe and to arrange parking for those unable to ride there. All are welcome and please tell fellow cycling enthusiasts. This is an exciting community project and a one off opportunity to get a good safe outdoor circuit up and running that can be used by all. Please support this and be part of the community that makes this happen.
