The Stockbridge Down Road Race fell victim to the heavy overnight rain, being called off due to standing water on the course. Race director, Mike Webber had little choice but to postpone the race with water covering the whole road in places. The real villian was, perhaps last winters continual rain, the water table is high and the downpours through the night in Hampshire soon flooded the roads. Mike Webber will look at running the race later in the year but the already crowded race calendar may make that something of a challenge.
