Rear Lights will no longer be mandatory in South DC events. The national committee has decided that the South District Committe are "exceeding their powers by insisting on the use of rear lights in open events" The use of lights can be strongly reccommended but not insisted upon, unless special conditions have been applied for. (they haven't) This will be the position for the rest of this season. The ruling can still be enforced by clubs for club events. "As there is no easily recognised standard for rear LED's it is felt by the national committee to be unrealistic to specify the quality of light which must be used at present"
