The prizes are based on the number of miles you complete between 3rd March and 21st April - the day of Liège-Bastogne-Liège - and record on Strava. Because it's a Strava based competition, distances completed between the start of the competition and your entry still count once they're uploaded, so you've not lost anything by entering a couple of weeks late.

NEW Forest Cycling Club’s Ben Boardman overcame Sunday’s numbingly cold wind to power around his club’s first time trial of the season on the testing Holmsley-Burley 10-mile circuit to win in 24min 54sec, writes Bob Jolliffe………..
With top New Forest performers Gary Lock and John Heffernan missing - Lock away on triathlon duties and Heffernan suffering a painful knee - and a below-par performance from Nick O’Hara; Boardman’s main opposition came from visiting riders.
It was down to New Milton’s Tony Green (GA Cycles) to take second with a nippy 25-05, while third went to Come-and-Try-It rider Alli Rogers with a startlingly-good first-time effort of 26-20.
Next-best home club rider was James Bannister another six seconds in arrears. Fifth went to another Come-and-Try-It lad, Sacha Ring, with 26-29, while home-grown junior Hugo Walters took sixth with 26-38.

VELO Club St Raphael’s Rob Ward took top honours in Saturday’ Andover Wheelers’ Hilly 10.2-mile time trial which included the lung-busting climb at Vernham Dean.
Ward took 26min 23sec to complete the course to win by 28 seconds from the promoting club’s Simon Healey, who finished in the same position last year.
Finishing third overall in 26-54, Primera Sports’ Mitchell Webber also won the junior prize and took the prime award for climbing to the summit of Conholt Hill in 4-50, 16 seconds faster than winner Ward, and only three seconds short of the hill record.
North Hampshire Road Club’s William Girvan was fourth with 27-22 beating first veteran Steve Walkling (VC St Raphael) by six seconds.
Andover Wheelers Steve Dance and Alan Spurden filled sixth and seventh positions with times of 28-07 and 28-10 respectively.

The start is 2 miles from the HQ look out for racing riders coming in opposite direction as you ride to the start.
Notes for your safety
1/ Special care is needed passing through Wool each time in view of parked vehicles.
2/ Caution approaching left turn at West Lulworth as it is acute with poor camber.
3/ Road from East Holme Junction at Wool is 900 and drain covers are right on turn .
(EXTRA CARE IN WET).
4/ There are several points in Wool that the road narrows to slow traffic down, there is room
for bike and car but remember keep tight left and give way if needed.
5/ Sharp left bend at Weld Arms will be marshaled with red flag to warn you.
(PLEASE DO NOT CROSS WHITE LINE INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC).

COURSE DETAILS
Start by concrete area on the south side of the unclassified road (Wool-Eastholme) opposite S bend sign 2.5 miles east of Wool. Proceed west to Wool where turn left (CARE) onto B3071,
Continue south on B3071 to West Lulworth (6.0 miles) where very sharp left (GREAT CARE ON ADVERSE CAMBER) onto B3070 proceed through East Lulworth towards Wareham to turn left (10.3 miles) onto unclassified road
towards Wool. Continue past the start (11.1 miles) and repeat the circuit. After two laps again proceed past the start to Wool where turn left (CARE) as before onto (B3071) to finish (25.7 miles) opposite wooden-
post just before the road on the left signpost to Combe Keynes
In the interests of safety riders must not turn in main road after finishing but proceed to turn in the Combe -
Keynes road prior to retracing to event HQ

Junior Heffernan: Message from Ian Drake,British Cycling

Statement by British Cycling Chief Executive, Ian Drake, following the tragic incident at the Severn Bridge Road Race that took 23 year old Junior Heffernans life
"The whole cycling community has been profoundly saddened by the death of Junior Heffernan and the thoughts of everyone at British Cycling are with Junior's family and friends.

"Our efforts this week have been focused on working with the police and supporting Bristol Road Club, the organisers of the Severn Bridge Road Race, the Herbalife team and of course Junior’s family.

"At this difficult time it is worth remembering incidents of this kind are very rare in road racing and this is the first death in decades and in tens of thousands of races.

"We are working with the Police and all those involved to understand the circumstances behind this tragic incident to help inform our continued work to safeguard our members.

"We take very seriously our responsibility to make racing on the roads as safe as possible for everyone and we will continue to work with our members, volunteers, race organisers and the authorities to protect those who take part in our sport."

Competition Coaching Sessions at Bournemouth Track

Starting on Thursday 4th April, there will be nineteen Thursday evening Competition Coaching sessions with Dr Chester Hill at BCC during 2013.

Dates at this time are: April 4th. 11th. 18th. 25th. May 2nd. 9th. 16th. 23rd. 30th. June 6th. July 25th. August 1st. 8th. 15th. 22nd. 29th. September 5th. 12th. 19th.
IN ADDITION to these sessions, Chester has also arranged three Pre Track League Coaching sessions on Tuesdays, being the 9th, 23rd and 30th April, all commencing at 18:30. So take advantage of these sessions as well, and have the advantage on those who didnt when the League starts on the 7th May!
These 2 hr sessions will specifically focus on developing Techniques & Tactics directly applicable to track racing at BCC. The aim will be to help develop riders already at competition level or competent track riders looking to start track racing. Therefore, the sessions will support the Tuesday Night Track League at BCC. This is in addition to local riders who race the National Hard Track Endurance League, and also want to compete at their respective National Track Championship (eg Youth/Junior/senior champs).

The sessions will provide opportunities for local clubs and teams to practice their team sprint and team pursuit riding, so please get in touch if this would interest you!

Riders attending should be competent at riding in bunches on the track, and riding Bournemouth or similarly banked tracks. Competent track riders can also work toward their BCC fast track accreditation by prior arrangement.
